I don't know if I just always get the timing right, but every time I pick up a book by B.K. Borison, it's exactly what I need in the moment. Layla Dupree is Lovelight Farms' resident baker. In the third installment of the series, she's wondering if she will ever find love in the pool of douchebags she seems to find online. Enter Caleb, a former cop and now high school teacher who keeps getting dumped before the 4th date. Together, they come up with an arrangement. They will date for one month so that Caleb can show Layla how the right person should treat her on dates, and in return, Layla will let Caleb know what he's doing wrong (or right!).
We all know where this is going, but it was so fun to read regardless. Featuring: fake dating, some spice, the famous community phone tree, the small town feel, and so many references to desserts that will have you running to your closest bakery. I loved this book b ; it's exactly what I needed to break my January reading slump! Thank you B.K. Borison.
