My favorite thing about this Amy Giles book is that it focuses on the aftermath of a shooting rather than the shooting itself. It doesn't dwell on the Monster or their reasons for committing such a terrible act. Instead, it delves into the lives of the survivors. It explores the struggles of those who managed to escape and the guilt they feel, as well as the pain of losing loved ones. This book is all about finding the good in our lives when faced with the bad. It teaches us to accept positivity even when we're unsure of how to move forward. I devoured this book in no time. I was completely invested in Jess and Lucas, and it was amazing to witness their journey of making room for each other in their lives. Because surviving also means learning how to truly live again.

Bottom line, I would recommend this book.
