Poppy and Alex have been friends for 12 years, and despite life getting busy, new jobs, new relationships, and two very different lifestyles, they take a summer vacation together. But then something happens on their last trip together, and they go their separate ways. Two years later, in a quest to find what is missing from her life to be truly happy, Poppy takes the plunge and invites Alex on one last summer trip, a last attempt to find what once was between them. Their story is told in two different timelines: their current summer trip and flashbacks to all the summers before the famous Croatia trip, where everything fell apart between them. I loved seeing their friendship grow over the years, but what really stuck with me was Poppy's choice of pushing down her "what ifs" to ensure she wouldn't lose the most important person in her life. I'm a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope, so I was the perfect audience for this Emily Henry book.

Bottom line, I would recommend this book.

They clearly have nothing in common, and they have never gotten along. After an alcohol fuele... Read Full Review »
