The Song of Achilles
An accessible and modern retelling of the Iliad is told from the perspective of Patroclus and his love story with the greatest warrior of his time, Achilles, from the moment they meet as children to the Trojan War. I quite enjoy Greek mythology, so this one was up my alley. This book is important for so many reasons, but although we are now spoiled with great 2SLGBTQ+ stories, it wasn't the case 10 years ago. It probably would have broken my heart if I had read it 10 years ago, but I couldn't help but find Patroclus a bit clingy, and their love story, although beautiful, was also slightly annoying at times. The ending was absolutely well done, though, and I can see why this book means so much to so many of you. I look forward to reading more from Madeline Miller.
