The Butcher
A worth reading novel from Jennifer Hillier. In 1985, a series of brutal murders plagued Seattle until now retired Chief of Police Edward Shank hunted and killed the infamous "Butcher" responsible for terrorizing young women. 30 years later, Shank is moving to a retirement home, leaving his Victorian house to his grandson Matt, an up and coming restaurateur known for his temper and selfish ways. All of this is amplified when he finds a hidden crate filled with horrifying secrets that will forever haunt him. Between the restaurant, his constant fighting with his girlfriend Sam, a true crime writer convinced that her own mother was killed by The Butcher, and these haunting family truths, Matt is spiraling down. When young women start dying, marked by The Butcher's signature, it becomes clear that things are not always as they seem.

It was still an enjoyable read, and even though I wasn't surprised by much of it, the story is still interesting and worth reading.
