Sara Novic is an American author, born in New Jersey in 1987. She is known for her debut novel, "Girl at War", which was published in 2015 and received critical acclaim. Novic was born to Croatian immigrant parents and grew up in a multi-lingual household, speaking both English and Croatian. She has a degree in creative writing from Columbia University and has also studied at the University of California, Irvine. In addition to her writing, Novic is also an advocate for disability rights, as she was born with a hearing impairment. She currently teaches fiction writing at Stockton University in New Jersey.
